A local client in Adamstown Heights was dealing with a serious sewer blockage. Water wasn’t draining properly and was starting to back up. After a full inspection, we found the cause which was cracked and collapsed earthenware pipes that needed replacing from top to bottom.
Work Completed
Our team at Leak Hunters carried out a full sewer system upgrade. Here’s what the job involved:
- Completed a Dial Before You Dig check to make sure excavation was safe
- Used a machine excavator to dig trenches from the break point down to the main Hunter Water connection
- Removed the old earthenware and installed a new PVC sewer system built to current Australian standards
- Laid gravel bedding to support the new pipework
- Connected the new PVC to the remaining section of the old system
- Installed a 100mm inspection opening for easy access later on
- Rebuilt the 150mm sewer shaft at the connection point
- Fully tested and commissioned the system to make sure everything flowed properly
- Backfilled all trenches and cleaned up the site when the job was done
Outcome
The blockage was successfully cleared, and the new PVC pipes now offer strong flow and long-term reliability. The client was happy to have the issue sorted properly, without any ongoing problems.
